I just picked up an original unrestored shop built garage kept buggy. The hood style is a little hard on the eyes at first, with it's '67-'69 Firebird 400 hood scoops and pointed nose, but it's so clean and original, that it's growing on me. The bottom of the pan is so clean, that at first I thought the pan halves were recently replaced, but they're OE.

So far, everything works and it runs well.
The original owner had it until last year and sold it after it sat for a few years. The prior owner freshened it up, painted the wheels, mirrors and bumpers black, and never used it.

That is different. I've not seen a body like that before.

Wow! That is in nice shape. I have seen one other before, but only in pictures on CL. Was too far away for me to go look at.

Looks like it will be a fun buggy to have.

On yours, I don't see a gas filler. Where is it? I also noticed that the rear end has an access hatch for the engine. Was that from the mold or did somebody just cut it? On mine it's near impossible to get to the oil fill on the Porsche 356 engine. It's much higher than on type 1 engines.

That's interesting that you noticed the lack of a fuel cap. The fuel fill neck is actually under the dash on the passenger side. It looks really difficult to be able to add any fuel and we haven't had to try as yet. We bought this as part of a two buggy deal from the original owner's son. As to the rear hatch, it appears to be cut out and then hinged. I will be going over to my brothers house on Tuesday and can get more pictures if you are interested (in fact he is coming over to my place today so I can probably get him to take some before he leaves). He has a really nice 71 VW cut down chassis sitting at my place that he was saying he would love to put that body onto. We shall see. Also, I don't think the one we have has that neat stamp on the dash, but I'll admit we haven't looked that close at it. We bought these for my son. He wants to start a buggy rental business in La Paz, MX so we have been collecting buggys for him.
