Jim, I don't have enough miles on the car yet to say that it is fully sorted out. So I will be trailering. Are you going to Carlisle? The Subi engine is extremely powerful. I made some comments over in the "First Drive" thread. Olli

First Drive

Wow! I have about 5 or 6 test miles now. That Subi has some torque! The gearing feels right too. 3.88 r&p Weddle close ratio 1-4. 3.75, 2.25, 1.50, 1.04 rear tires are 29". No big drop between gears. I have 930 cv's to handle the power. The sound of the turbo is sweet. I will be at Carlisle...

Manxters @ Knott's ????

I posted over in the "general" forum too but anything from Knott's?? I have seen some pictures from Knotts' from the Cobra perspective and in one shot it looks like there is a Mendeola banner up way, way in the distance. So, did Mendeola have any of their turnkey Manxters there? Anyone her...

Fubar, You just described "dry cranking".... A pressurized pre-luber is simple enough to put together, they are commonly used with Ford modular engines. Infact, Ford Racing sells them. Even the "old" pushrod Fords get pre-lubed prior to first start via spinning the oil pump with ...

Brazillian beams

I used a Brazillian "Puma" beam from CB. It is a functional piece with built in adjusters. One big problem though, it sure ain't pretty. The towers have ugly spot welds and the top shock pad is just tacked on. The paint leaves a lot to be desired too. If you have one of these check to make...

Getting close...

I am getting very close to nearly being done. Almost ;) Later this week I should be able to pressure test the cooling system. After that I don't see why I couldn't go for first start. I still need to build an engine oil pre-luber though, I have a hard time with dry cranking a fresh engine. Olli

Gary, I don't see why you couldn't use earlier pans. The only thing that matters to you is the placement of the body to pan bolt holes and the overall shape. I really, really can't see there being any differences. I say go for it and lose that seat hump. Olli

Mike, ...ouch..... but I love your honesty. Good luck with the re-build. I am building #033. It is Subi powered. 2.5L EFI Turbo. There are pictures posted here on the forum in various threads. If you are interested , they should be easy to find since, well....there aren't that many threads here. Hap...
