Regarding the base, is the one you have a CAST piece? If so, you might try swap meets and find some old rusty dietz buckets. The newer style is a stamped deal... I made a spare set for my Towd from Stainless Rod and threaded the ends.

They are pretty straight forward if youcannot get them made.

The buggy was in the sellers family for 44 years...
