Mammoth 2010 Photo's

I had a great time this past weekend.  My brother and I took one of the intermediate runs behind Bob Hunter up to lookout at the top of Bald Mountain.  My buggy performed great and without a problem until we arrived at the peak. I guess my buggy ran out of air at 9000'.  Couldn't help but marvel at ...

Scott,

It was great seeing you and your Sportster in Mammoth. You did a great job in getting it ready for the weekend.

Apache Trailer

I guess the big question is how much can it cost to build a teardrop like one of these.  I sure don't need another project either but I can always plan ahead.  Image

Manx II #1493 Build

Bumpers and Exhaust. Two of the most debatable design subjects you can have with a buggy. IMO the best front bumper you can have is the Manx bumper. It just holds a classic look and frames the nose just right. Bruce did a great job with the rear bumper for the Manxter. I wish I could afford that one...

Manx or Clone

There are a few things you can look at to tell if this is a real Manx or not. Tubes along the underside of the body, a badge near the shift coupler cover, etc ... http://www.manxclub.com/realmanx.htm">This%20link will give you clearer directions on finding out the truth.  However, I do think th...

I see you have a hole in the right front side of the tunnel. Are you running a hydraulic clutch?

Show Off Your Before and After!

What did you start out with?  What does your buggy look like now?  Did you buy your buggy as a kit and start with a donor vehicle?  Or did you buy your buggy built and then fix it up? Here's my Before and After.  Yes there's a lot in between but that's another tale. http://img.photobucket.com/albums...

I'm not seeing any pop-up ads at all. I looked at the forum ad settings and this is what is shown.

Gary's 68 Manx Build

Gary, I recall quite a few threads on the old forums where the disc brake conversion was a frequently discussed topic. What I've picked up over the last few years is that with disc brakes you need a residual valve to maintain brake feel when you step on the pedal. Without it you will find the pedal ...

SS Brake Lines

How do you plan on bending them? I used a small hand held tube bender sized to fit small brake tubing and such. There really aren't too many bends to make and some are better done by hand, however, for the 90 degree bends and such it was very handy having the right tool.

Gary. The hard lines have a metric bubble flare on the ends. Do not confuse them with double flares. They are very different and they will leak when mixed. With disc brakes I think you will need to use a residual valve.

SS Brake Lines

I'm interested in how the flares look. How did they turn out? I bought a bubble flaring tool recently and the cost wasn't too bad. I've been practicing making the bubble flares and it's rather easy. The problem I have is consistency with the flares. I haven't tried any of my flares on my car yet but...

Great story! Looking good too! Are those the original front fenders?
