Lowering IRS Suspension
OK, So I decided to just go for it. I took some before measurements and the front ride height just behind the front wheels was approx 9" of ground clearance. Rear ride height measured just in front of the rear wheels was approx 11". So the 2" was what I was trying to eliminate and eve...

Lowering IRS Suspension
I would like to equalize the ride height front to rear in my buggy. As it sits the buggy is 2" higher in the rear than the front. While I can easily raise the front suspension, I have an adjustable beam, I would rather lower the rear because I like the way the front sits. I have an IRS suspe...

Winter Maintenance and Storage
Joseph, I did know about the different charging requirements of an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) type battery. In fact, here's a link that I found while researching batteries for my buggy. My home charger is a 2/6/10 amp smart charger. I also have a charger at work that can be set specifically to charg...

Winter Maintenance and Storage
I was wondering what steps you take to maintain your buggy's condition throughout the cold winter months. I realize some in the club use their buggy year round so the standard maintenance applies ie; tune, oil change, valve adjust, brake inspection and adjustment. For those that store their buggie...

Gene,
I think he's talking about next week. I'll try to be there.
BTW... the chat room is open all the time for anyone and you don't need to be a club member to join in.

installing 14 mm wheel studs in vw brake drums
I'm curious to see if any one who has 4 lug drums has had to grind the heads of the studs. I did not and I wonder if the issue is only with the 5 lug.

installing 14 mm wheel studs in vw brake drums
I cannot remember what size drill I used to clear out the threads of the 12mm lugs in my front (four lug) drums. It may have been a 1/2" bit. I do know that to drill out the holes to the final size I used a 9/16" bit then finished the hole using a 37/64" bit. I found it at my local AC...

My brother and I took the Tioga Pass through Yosemite on our way home. While flat towing the buggy it was tough to fine any spot to pull over and really enjoy the views. Glad to see someone took their buggies to see the park. Thanks for sharing those pics.
