Re: 1968 Beetle engine refuses to start
You have not done anything wrong with trying to adjust the carb. Don't let anyone make you feel dumb with what you have done. Trying different things is one way to learn. I will ask if you have checked the spark plug wires and the rotor in the distributor. The stock spark plug wires use a 1K ohm res...

Re: 1968 Beetle engine refuses to start
First thing I would do is a compression check to see if all cylinder are working. The second thing I would do is if compression is low is to check valve clearance. If you have correct valve clearance and low compression on any cylinder I would then do a Leak Down Test. You are putting compressed air...

Great write up Vincent, of installing rear disc brakes on your Manxter. All the picture are great for reference on what you did to to put in together.

Re: Sea 2 Sea Safari 2
That would work for me, I don't know about other people. Being retired and no other obligations at this time I am open to what ever happens.
I do have to thank Ed McGirk and Roy Robbins for helping me make the 2013 trip. Without them my trip would have ended in Tucson.

Re: Sea 2 Sea Safari 2
I plan on doing the Sea 2 Sea 2020. Had a lot of fun last time. Spent almost 30 days on the road with visiting with relatives and friends on the drive back home too. Many memories of the trip. I like to get there when the activities start instead of missing the first couple of days like we did last ...

Re: 67 Baja 1000 winner (and 2nd)
I am curious on what your plans are of using any pictures being posted here of the winning Manx. I have pictures of the replica of the #10 car and the sticker you ask about, but without knowing what they will be used for, I will not post them. The off road race cars that were in Reno, part of them a...

Re: Drum Front Disc Rear Setup
Yes you can use either the single or dual master cylinder with that combo. I prefer the dual circuit master cylinder so if something happens you still will have some braking action. One thing you may want to think about installing is a proportioning valve. That way you can adjust the brake bias. I w...

Re: Tanks on old red?
The tanks are what Bruce and Ted came up with for carrying extra fuel when they made the record run beating the motorcycle time from La Paz to TJ back in 1967. This was before the first Baja 1,000 race.

Re: what style Master Cylinder is best for Manxter 2+2?
I would recommend using the stock dual circuit 19mm master cylinder or the EMPI 20mm for your project. I would also recommend using a master cylinder reservoir that fit on the master cylinder. It will fit fine with a Manxter body. EMPI sell the reservoirs that fit the Brazilian masters and their 20m...

I do believe this Tow'd was sold in May of 2017. It was at the Kelly Park show last year and a friend bought it.
