Re: The Road to Mexican 1000- Building a Manxter DualSports

Yeah ok so that piece is the original boob to allow fitment of the Subaru Engine with Type 1 / Type 2 transmission and come out of the TB and around into an air cleaner. It is not used if you have the later boob unless it fits. That Boob will not work with a Subaru Transmission, for that you need th...

Re: Manxter #160 Build - Gunmetal

Looking good, I would have a real good check of that upper arm though as in the picture it looks like it has been in bearing hell in a previous life. The AirKewld beam looks to use push in bushes not bearings so that should help out if it is slightly damaged all though ride quality will suffer over ...

Re: The Road to Mexican 1000- Building a Manxter DualSports

I need to see a picture of the bit you have.

The black bit in the back of the blue car is the Mk1 SubaGears Boob, we then when onto Mk2 which is wider to allow for easier access.

Re: The Road to Mexican 1000- Building a Manxter DualSports

Hi Brad, Did you reverse the intake on the DSBE? I'm trying to figure out how you got the alternator and AC compressor on there without doing that...if you did. Any extra pics would be appreciated. Also, where does the boob go? Am I supposed to cut it out because it doesn't look like it will fit an...

Re: The Road to Mexican 1000- Building a Manxter DualSports

Wow seems like just yesterday we were staring the build and now the Baja Edition is half way across the USA. I said when I started this project that the aim was not to build a race car, it was to build a true DualSports Vehicle which could be raced, drive across USA or just taken to the local shops ...

Re: Backyard Mechanic Nightmare

What state are you in ? I am in CA and I am going to guess if you are the guy is a dick and will not even come close to meeting what he is required to under legislation : Before Starting A Mechanics Lien On Any Vehicle. The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR), and the Department of Motor Vehicles have...

Re: The Road to Mexican 1000- Building a Manxter DualSports

well not long to go now, been pretty slow going but oh well. After thinking about feedback I got about the temps on the trip and not wanting Todd to do it to hard being he is a Sydney Boy I figured I should make a few additions to the DualSport Baja Edition to take it from Race to Cruise. Started of...

Damn that looks SWEET , should be great to see it coming together. What transmission are you running with the engine ? I am guessing it is an Out Front setup ?

Re: Forum suggestion (with Poll!)

I think as it stands the forum layout and sections could be a lot easier to use. Lumping all the technical stuff into one place is very confusing and hard to follow. A few sub sections would be nice and add to the value of the forum for members looking for specific info. I see there are builds in ea...

FS: Manxter DualSport - Turbo Subaru

The time has come to thin my fleet and I have decided to sell my Silver Meyers Manx DualSport Buggy. This buggy was Bruce Meyers own DualSport and was built to showcase the Manxter DualSport. Tag Number is Bruce Meyers ( No Number just a signature) and it is registered in CA as a 1971 VW Beetle with...
