Re: I need restoration help

Definately need lots of photos... front, both sides, rear, dash, engine etc., etc., etc.!!! LOL The more detailed the photos are, the better the info we can recommend!!! Just because it has sat for a long time, doesn't necessarily mean anything... much depends on where the buggy has been sitting!!!...

Re: Resorter #12 Headed East!

If it would have been the original "Lime Green", I'd have been more interested in it!!! As I posted before... the guy in Texas cloned them & made somewhere between 20 to 24 of them!!! The guy in Arizona supposedly made 8 to 10 Resorter clones!!! Regardless... they are really cool!!! I...

Re: Stroker stuff

Hey Richard, I've built a number of 1904cc stroker engines & all of them performed great!!! A few friends built the 1955cc (76mm stroke X 90.5mm bore) engines & one used stock length rods & the others used 5.7" aftermarket rods!!! All ran great, however the short rod engine produce...

Re: Shuffle to Buffalo 2015

Note to Laxkraap, Mike Dario et al... I have one of the first copies made of the Torque-Dude or whatever it was called! I've used it on 4 & 5 lug Type 1, Type 3 & Thing drums, without making any adapters! Also Mike, I noticed you are using a "Helping Hand" to keep the drum from tu...

Re: Low-sided Meyers Manx!!!

No photos does suck, but I do not blame the guy, seeing the neighborhood he lives in!!! You know the rich are very security minded! Anyway, I heard from him yesterday evening & he wants to hold off selling it until the 15th of July! I do not know what is so special about that date, but I will f...

Re: How does your 1641 run?

Well... hanging off the back of Xena (she weighs about 1400 lbs as we drive her)... I don't have a 1641cc, but I do have a basically stock 1600cc!!! I'm running stock cam with steel pushrods that I set at .0015" clearance though it calls for .000" (zero) lash!!! I too have a set of 1.25 r...

Low-sided Meyers Manx!!!

Yesterday Patricia & I were at the local "5 times a year" big flea market all day! I met a fellow wearing an older "Manx Dune Buggy Club" cap & of course we talked for awhile about buggies! I told him about selling Xena & why! He gave me the phone number of his neigh...

Burro, EMPI Sportster or ???

What is the general thought on here about running a Burro, a EMPI Sportster or some other low/no side buggy??? Right now I know of 2 Burros (1 is a clone), 2 EMPI Sportsters - 1 is really nice & the other looks like crap but runs great & is very dependable, 2 Resorters - 1 is a clone, the o...

V6 Towd From Kansas???

Does anyone here remember a Manx Club member named "ROD" from Kansas??? He had a Meyers Towd with a Chevy 4.3 V6 hanging off the back!!! He brought it out to California to a run back in early 2000!!! Just wondering if he still has it or is still a Club member!!!

Re: TJ-Kustoms product showcase request

While I do not use any of Tom's products, I have never heard anything but "praise" for them!!! It is fantastic to have great folks like him making "useful" products for Meyers Manx buggies &/or any brand of f/g buggy!!! I personally would like to "THANK" TJ-KUSTOMS...

Re: Utility Manx Found!

Scott... It's hard to beat a well built Type 4 engine!!! Whether you go with the 2 liter or the slightly bigger one, I think you'll be very satisfied!!! However... there's nothing like having the sound & the torque of a Corvair 6 cylinder air-cooled engine either!!! LOL When you are finished, t...
