Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

There is a guy on here and theSamba...joescoolcustoms...on theSamba I had noticed and thought his tag lines were funny and true about "painted with a live chicken...buffed with a pine cone".... and "many wallets go dry before a project finishes".....I am unfortunately becoming mu...

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

You guys are killing me and REALLY making me want to get this thing done in time!

I'm sure we could coordinate to get us all together at Contingency. The neatest would be to be next to the other Vintage Bronco's to have a legitmate line up of "Pioneer" style vehicles.

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

If there is a place I could rent a Lowrance Baja 5 rather than buy, I'd be super interested....this build $$$ is out of control. Spending $400+ on a gps I would use 1x a year or maybe only once is excessive (and that's coming from a guy with an obvious spending problem that hasn't normally carried a...

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

You sound like my Early Bronco buddies as it pertains to "period correct" and yours will be legit. My front end with all the "torsion leafs"? still in seems really stiff. if you are running the original Link Pin front end do you take out any of the "shims"? As a reminde...

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

I'm in. Nacho Cheeze will be taking a rest from this one, but the team will be busy at work prepping the Inchworm. 4442 Jon, did I understand you (Inchworm) runs a swing axle out back? Also curious what are you running for shocks? My '69 Manx is BJ front end, thing spindles, IRS out back, Bilstein ...

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

Now that I'm older (43) and have a family and don't make much money I figure once a year in Baja is easier on the wallet and family.

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

Boys and their toys.... I used to closed circuit road course race a turbo Miata (NASA TT series mostly in the Midwest and California). Since we had babies it has been on coasters and hasn't moved in 3 years. Before that car was converted to turbo we also ran it in the Cannonball Run One Lap of Ameri...

Mocked up my body this AM, had my wife help!

Ready for cage work next weekend.

The huge tires and 3" body lift make it WAY higher than i anticipated.

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

For those of you running NORRA, just curious what you all are doing for fuel tanks/fuel-cells? In a separate thread, quite awhile back, I asked the membership if anyone had a check valve solution for rollovers and I got no feedback. I'm running a standard '68 OEM tank that has been boiled and sealed...
