Re: Fuel tank rollover valves

Wanted to "close the loop" on this thread for the membership. I talked with the Technical Director at NORRA. We talked about how if I have a "non-vented" gas cap and then I'll use a side expansion vent with a rollover like ones offered at Summit then the vintage OEM tank would be...

Re: Mechanic NorCal suspension help

Trying to be helpful to any NorCal Manx Club guys. Most of what I shared, I ended up figuring out how to do on my own. I did buy that 10-degree tranny mount that requires the brackets welded and I'm having Bruce and Maverick at bugformance in San Jose help me with that welding/fabricating. When Davi...

Re: NorCal paint & body

Weston's Auto body in Santa Cruz (Robert Weston) was awesome. I allowed him to take his time and use it as filler work and I was very pleased. Photos in the gallery and hopefully attached. 4568 4569 Robert sanded off the blue original color, did some repairs to the tub (crack near where the tranny m...

Re: WTB Manx Valve Covers

Did a MC member get these on eBay? $710 seems bananas?! If demand is this high perhaps the club needs to do a "group buy" and make a run? http://m.ebay.com/itm/222357906244?_mwBanner=1&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F0%252Fe11021.m43.l3160%252F7%253Feuid%253Dfd07...

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

Ok, if that is a current photo then we should have an assembly race?! 8-) I had assumed you were using an existing Manx not building one from scratch. That's awesome. I was a knucklehead and got frustrated because (again not being a Vw guy and this is my first vw platform project) I didn't know what...

Re: Torsion cover help

Thanks so much and then I emailed the guy whom sold me those and he noted to just knock the spacers off? I'll file that under me being a knucklehead 8-)

Torsion cover help

Guys this looks real goofy, not sure why there is so much space between the cover and the Saco bushing and the swing plate?

Thoughts? Thanks -- Eric452145204519

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

To keep "on topic" for this thread, has everyone that is going down been along for the "NORRA Circus" before? Off topic, if you have a preferred alternative for the urethan, send a link, I'll all ears. 8-) I hate to go "off topic" too much but if you guys have any sugge...

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

If anyone wants to have a "Manx Party" I live south of San Jose in the Santa Cruz mountains and here is some of the "jewelry" I have ready for assembly.

Plus a beautiful race tranny from Benco out of Riverside.

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

I'm super motivated for sure for the 50th.....and have probably close to $10k in parts sitting around, its just having a 2 year old and a 9 month old and being 43 and traveling for work a lot has killed any productivity. Finding a half day where my wife doesn't give me grief is WAY harder to find th...

Re: 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000

My '69 Yuma Yellow is still in 10,000 parts. I'm trying to get it done but we'll see.

Even if I dont' have my Manx done I'll be down in Baja with my Early Bronco team for the 6th year in a row.

NORRA website shows #1100 "Mike Bloom" in the Pioneer class, is he a MC member?

Mechanic NorCal suspension help

Guys, I have a HUGE amount of stuff I'd like to get done on my Manx project. Anyone here or anyone know of someone that could come to my place and help and assure I'm doing things right? I was thinking one day or a big piece of one day so I could crush a bunch of assembly work. Some of you might rec...

Re: Original Manx - SoCal

I wondered what happened to this. I met him out at Bruce's when I had my pan made and then when I saw it for sale I PM'd him on samba to see if I could pry away the Manx valve covers for the '69 Yuma Yellow NORRA Manx I'm building. This is a nice example, GLWTS and if you would part with the Manx va...
