Thanks guys, I have been in touch with James, and he had stated that he did not have a copy of the brochure, or he would have published it in one of his books. That is why I was so surprised to see it in Davids posting! Tim Barton had stated that he didn't have the brochure either (I really have bee...

Thanks Mel,

I don't really know what the Hillman Hunter looks like, but I bought the badge on eBay from a bloke in Australia. I hope David will email a nice copy of that brochure - I've been looking for 4 years for one. It sure cleared up a few things; I thought the company was Conn-Ferr and I thought McQueens ...

Hi Mel, No, mine hasn't been in the snow and it was restored in 1993. You may have seen the web article I did on my 1965 Hunter buggy though, since I also had a link to some old magazine articles that I had shared. http://danadkins.net/dunebuggy.aspx Actually the yellow buggy would be an ideal candi...

Why wouldn't the headlights be legal? I've got the TC scooped headlamps on mine and they're legal in USA and Canada.

Scanned a couple of Popular Science articles > 1969 era b

While waiting for my wife at an antique store over the weekend, I sat myself on the floor in front of a pile of old magazines and found 2 from 1969 that had great covers, so for $1 each they were mine. Thought I'd share with you guys... http://danadkins.net/Documents/PopSci8_69.pdf One article is on...

Nero time

I got my DVD today; thanks for the heads-up! The documentary itself is about 8 minutes long and only the last 3 minutes promote the Touareg. I've ripped it into an ISO file (500MB) that you can burn to DVD yourself and I'll be glad to try to email it to those unable to get the DVD.

Thanx. I didn't know if the bar was ready to 'spring' out at you when it let go or is it only under load while driving?

Is there a procedure available for removing the sway bar? I'm considering it myself. Also gets in the way of a tow-bar.

Thanx for posting that David! So that's what the meyers exhaust sound like. As much as I like the sound, I think I'll stick with my stock VW exhaust and muffler. Hearing aids and loud noise don't mix well.

suggestion

I sent in my photos, but he replied: "Your buggy looks great. I think you could use and benefit from them even if you do not use a top." No mention of whether I might be a candidate. Perhaps many feel leery, as I do, about sticking anything to our nice paint jobs - don't even apply sticker...

I used it on several plastic patio chairs 2 summers ago and it did adhere well with no peeling, but since the chairs are always outside, the finish looks dull now.
