Re: Bud's Manx Restoration - Part Deux

Part of my build included the addition of driving lights to the front bumper. In addition to the aesthetics and appropriateness for a true duel sport buggy, they can be very useful in the right circumstance. After doing a little desert driving I came to realize that amber lenses or lights were prob...

Roof Racks - So Many Choices

Part of our long-termed vision and plans for our newly rebuilt Zarkov Meyers Manx was to be able to do long distance travel without sacrificing (much) with the amount of luggage, spare parts, and tools that my wife and I could carry with us. Many years ago I built a storage box that I thought would...

Re: Bud's Manx Restoration - Part Deux

When we started this build I decided that I wanted to try something a little different from the conventional placement of the radiator (aft of the engine) that was tried and proven to keep the Ecotec cool in a fiberglass buggy. https://www.manxclub.com/forum/app.php/gallery/image/6261/medium I want...

Demystifying Working With Fiberglass

Recently I posted a build thread about our buggy conversion from VW A/C to GM Ecotec (thread is here: https://www.manxclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=4480 ) and one of the unique things that I wanted in this build, and Dr. Zarkov was able to accommodate, was to mount the radiator parallel (...

My NOS shifter has begun a new life, out of the box. Out with the old shifter and in with NOS shifter.

Vintage Hurst Shifters

So like all good intentions to research something, and like Alice, down the Rabbit Hole I went. From time to time we see vintage Hurst shifters come up for sale in the various marketplace sites on the internet. While these devices were very plentiful, at least in the 60's and 70's, the original Hur...

Re: Bud's Manx Restoration - Part Deux

Since this was a Zarkov Industries build, every fine detail was considered right down to the on/off temp switch for the radiator fans. Many are using a toggle switch to turn the fans on/off, or even just wiring the fans up to the switched power off of the ignition. Dr. Z drilled and tapped a Vintag...

I think this is the best picture I've ever seen to describe/demonstrate the beauty of Baja and the remoteness of racing NORRA. Great shot!!!

I've put a lot of individual pictures in this build thread, however the album (link just below) contains a lot more detailed pictures of the during and after process.
