Ride Heigth with a Ball Joint Beam

I bought a used buggy with an avis adjuster. Formerly it was for drag racing / street. I adjusted it as high as it will go and it still didn't have enough height. So I put coil-over shocks on the front. That raised it about right but the cheap coil-overs don't last. That may help you eliminate what ...

Super Case

Jay: By Supercase do you mean the taller aluminum case cast especially for stroker, with the cylinders placed a little farther out? If so it is different from an aftermarket aluminum case that has been clearanced for stroker. If you are building a big stroker the cases cast for stroker should be qui...

Building a 1915 engine

Jay: Years back SoCal imports had someone cheaply putting larger valves & seats in Brazilian heads. Those may be a set. Not sure. Though bigger valves and seats I don't think the ports had any work on those. Whereas on a real 041 head the ports were about 15% larger to work with the bigger valve...

RIP -- David Ehret #1187 December 08, 2010

Allison returned my call this evening.  She sounded pretty devastated and much appreciated those reaching out to her. Dave's memorial will be Saturday morning, Dec 18th, 10AM,  at San Antonio Church, 5800 E.  Santa Anna Canyon Rd.,  Anaheim Hills, CA. A get together will follow the service at their ...

RIP -- David Ehret #1187 December 08, 2010

He was too young for that! That is shocking news. They were some of the first people we met in the MC.  I can't tell you how many times Dave and Allison ran sweep for us. They did it a lot. We tried to call Allison a few minutes ago but she must not have been home.

Swing Axle oil leak

Chuck:  I notice you said you had it up on jackstands before the boots leaked. When the wheels on swing are raised off he ground and left to hang sometimes the boots gets pinched against the horns, causing a small leak where it was crushed.  The usual fix is to put a 1/4 inch spacer under the rear t...

Wheel Balancer

If you don't have a motorcycle balancer I did an article about using an old front spindle and brake drum for the same purpose in a Mania a few years ago. The principle is the same.

Headlights for a Dean Jefferies Coyote

Bob. First, I don't know. Not sure which Kyote he has or whether there is a difference. The earliest pix I found of one seemed to have flip up headlights. If he doesn't get a sure answer, how big is the hole in the fiberglass? If it is big enough to take a 7" headlight I think I'd try to find h...

Thank you from Mammoth

Wow. That is a nice letter. Usually municipalities are wary and protective. Speaks well for the Club. We should save it for future use should the need of recommendation arise in other towns.

The Early Spirit of the Dune Buggy

The antique buggy and teardrop have disappeared for me too.
