I've found the same issue with my replacement dsash. Doesn't quite fit the frame, but I will make it fit by one of the methods mentioned earlier. I did not get the drop-down dash, since my hood is removable I will have access to all gauges and everything else needed.

I just came back from a Mexican Riviera cruise and I saw one of these in Puerto Vallarta. Looks like a new beetle but like Doc says, there is a front beam. Couldn't see much more cause I was told I was in a restricted area and told to move. Bunch of B.S., the one I saw was also a Dollar rent-a-car.
