I read somewhere a few years ago about someone who bought a Bikini top for a Jeep from JC Whitney and it fit very well on his dune buggy. Does anyone have any helpful advice about this? If so, what model Jeep and what about the windshield attachment?
Mike, I have a...

Big and Littles

All, I am wanting to upgrade fro mthe wagon spoke rims on the manxter to something with more BLING...Like some 20 inch Dubs..Yo! OK, what are all of you running for rims? I found some 17s but they are all the same size. Might look odd having the same size rim front and back. Plus not sure about rubb...

State Farm

Stae Farm would not write coverage for me as they are not VW VIN cars. The monocque has an odd ball VIN..I assume from the engine number as it correlates to an old 36HP engine. The Manxter has a SPCN from Arizona...not a VW VIN If the title said VW as the manufacturer, they would but both of my titl...

Auto club

Hey Jon. Thanks for the insurance answer.I belong to AAA so I am filling out a request for quotes from them. I may have to consider joining AUto club if they will quote competitively. Manxter Insurance

Hi all, I currently have my Manxter and my monocoque insured only for liability. I know that is crazy but I have not been able to find anyone to insure either of them. I currently have them through Progressive and it is reasonable (obviously based on the "age" of the vehicles. Of course th...

Glass repairs

I have used Resin mixed with milled fiber. I premix the fiber in with the resin and then add the MEKP. The big thing is to chamfer your holes prior to filling them. If you simply plop the stuff in the hole, it will start to crack or pop out in a few years. Remember, regardless of the resin you use (...

Swing to IRS conversion

I am not sure about this but isn't the torsion assembly a larger diameter on the IRS vs the Swing axle? My brothers Towd had an IRS assembly and the builder "modified" the lower bracket that the torsion rests in order to seat the IRS torsion. My Towd has the Swing axle underneath it and it...

Southwind heater

Believe it or not, but there was a company that adapted SOuthwind heaters for use in Dune buggies. Sadly I had a NOS kit that I bought with a bunch of stuff a long time ago. It had everything in it. I traded it off for a Westfalia Drive away tent that I needed more than a gas heater. I tried to buy ...

corvair engine in manxter

All points are valid. The idea of a corvair powerplant is twofold. Opposed air cooled in keeping with the traditionalists, and the added sound quality generated by it. 4 cylinders make such a raspy noise. The throaty corviar sounds like it means business and the Manxter looks like it means busines.....

I need to get one Towd door made so if you could, drop me a line and let me know your contact for tops. I have a local boat shop here but I feel that they are kind of price...
