Re: Buggy Insurance

For you guys in South Carolina, where are you? I'm in Irmo, and know of one other here in the Columbia area. Would love to meet some other buggy lovers here in SC. Especially since Loretta will be back from West Virginia soon, and I'll be working on her quite a bit to get her ready to ride! Hey I'm...

Re: Buggy Insurance

I tried Progressive and they don't insure dune Buggies but they sent me to Haggerty's Ins. co. After applying and sending in payment they denied me coverage stating that they don't insure Dune Buggies.

Buggy Insurance

I'm looking to buy insurance for my Manx. I want to insure it for the real value and not for the 1963 VW value of the donor car. Any Advice?
I'm located in South Carolina

I'm not sure what you are refering to, but if you mean the front of the top, it has a hard plastic strip sewn into it that slips into the groove on the fronjt of the windshield frame. You need to install 2 snaps to secure the front corners. So it can be easily removed by releasing the two rear hooks...

I have installed my top. Here are some photo's. I substituted a spring hook and strap (available from your local hardware store for about $12) for the rear anchor points for easy removal. See photo.

Don, If your bumper is chrome plated, the plating will crack if you bend it. Also, and more importantly, when you rev the engine, the enging will lift and roll slightly and possibly hit that bumper and damage your new carbs. Also you are going to have trouble getting to those adjusting screws. I hat...

street. I have decided to go with a 31/10.5x15 rear tire. With my 1915 engine I think it will be fine. when I bought it it had a stock car tire that measured 29.5"X10", and a stock 1600 engine, which pulled it fine. I don't think it was a street legal tire, but it had dry rotted. I couldn'...

Wide rear tires

Does anyone have advice about wide rear tires? I have 2 10" VW wide 5 wheels. I think they are the '66 or '67 style. Anyway I am wondering what is the bigest tire size I can put on an original Manx without clearance problems. Any Advice is appreciated. Thanks Mike
