Tony, If it makes you feel better the gap in my hood looks very close to yours (and mine is the correct Manx hood). My hood is hitting the body at each end but I have the same gap in the middle. Not wanting to get off subject but I hate the term "ran when parked" (tow'd add). Last time I went to see one of these a 4 foot breaker bar could not turn the vw motor over. The adds look like good possiblities though.

Well we final received a much need thundershower in draught ridden Fl. One problem had by Beetle donor at my brother-n-law?s house, with the pan and body separated now everything is soaked. Haven?t had rain in weeks but it couldn?t wait another day so I could get the pan home to my garage. Oh-well ...

On a Manx 1, The holes in the body do not line up with the holes in the hood (not a straight line). So what this person did was use 1 inch wide peice of metal to catch the top hood bolt and the body hole. Then weld another 1 inch piece to catch the bottom hood hole. The Bounty Hunter is my next Buggy (I might want to finish the Manx first) and your's is making me want one more. Been looking for one for a while the closest I've came is a Deserter GT.
