Re: LED Tail light upgrade

Bud, I have still incandescent bulbs in the front. When I installed the LEDs in the rear, everything worked but the flash was too fast. When I installed the electronic flasher, the speed of the flash returned to normal. Are you using a two or three pronged Flasher? I posted a drawing on Manx Faceboo...

Re: LED Tail light upgrade

I recently installed the LED Tail Light Conversion Kit from AirCooled.net Although it cost more than $100 for the set of two, I'm pleased with the appearance and function. 1963 Bug tail lights. I used an EL-13 electronic flasher. http://vwparts.aircooled.net/SearchResults.asp?Search=led+tail+light+kit

Re: Introducing the Manx Club "Long-Haul LEAGUE" award

I have to ask....why is this highly recommended and what would be the rational for it? Hi Ed, for us it's the same accomplishment and same recognition, I only listed it because it helps me remember where, who and how the award was earned. There are unique challenges in both, being part of a group g...

This is a highly recommended way to travel with a buggy

Re: Traditional Skid Plate Installation

Generally, it's not a good idea to bolt your skid plate to the engine case. You want the skid plate to absorb the impact, not your engine case. Hence, the rear portion of the skid plate should be attached to an engine cage. I bring this up so that those who are new to buggies will understand that yo...

Re: Lowering The Sides of a Meyers Manx???

You can use the side nerf bars, as a step and overhead roll bar/cage as a handhold to help pull yourself into the buggy, then turn and sit. Couple years ago, we carried a step stool in the buggy for someone that just had back surgery, and I worked well. For those of us who go off the pavement and h...

Re: Lowering The Sides of a Meyers Manx???

Michael, I have a three inch lift kit in my Dune Runner and I raised my seats so the top of the seat is the same height as the edge of the body. You just slide your bottom across the flat edge of the body and into the seat. It is very easy to enter and exit. I like that low entry aspect of the body ...

Michael,
A DuneRunner body has the lower sides you need. That's what mine is. They are around.

Interesting idea but I like the idea of having a bumper to protect the engine.

Re: What are your winter, or off season upgrades?

A group of us recently took our Buggies to Death Valley and now I'm getting ready for the Manx Club outing in Laughlin, Nevada. A small amount of fiberglass work has been done on my 4seat buggy.

Since the bodies aren't the same, I don't think pictures would be of any use.
Good luck.

Clean Air

I installed the CB Performance Sand System on my buggy which is primarily used in the dirt. I am pleased with the results. Getting the filters above the body and away from the wheels made a huge difference. See the link below for a description and pictures. http://rbcdunebuggy.yuku.com/topic/3842/Cl...

Re: What Duel manifols fit stock Manx2?

I don't know which body you have. I had to put a body lift in my clone to accommodate dual carbs. I used the Weber Redline Kit 40mm.
